This charming couple is brought to us by Wamsutta Mills. Published in the May 1956 edition of Charm magazine, it has the complete fifties look. It is one of my favorites. I love that the advertiser choose an illustration instead of a photograph to show us this dress designed by Murray White for his “Sized to Height” brand. It is picture-perfect.
The woman has a hat, gloves, clutch bag, jewelry, and a carnation on her collar. Her dress is made from Wamsutta’s crisp “ribbon-stripe” cotton voile. She is posing for her bow-tie clad beau who is taking her picture with a wonderfully vintage camera.
A wide, 20 gore skirt, and cool necklineā¦the superbly soft, yet crisp cotton boasts the famed “Good Conduct” finish for a wrinkle-free, carefree life.

The 1956 edition of Charm magazine is a favorite of mine. Check out more postings from this magazine here.
