The advertisers working for Lipton Soup in 1963 got this one right. Produce an ad with a close-up of a cute brown-eyed toddler sitting in front of a steaming bowl of soup on a cold November day. Make it full color and keep it simple. Then, publish it in Good Housekeeping magazine. Given the baby boom in 1963, chances are quite likely that the reader is a busy mother that has her own adorable hungry toddler.
Similar ads were common in 1963, but this one has my vote for one as the cutest and most effective. And the toddler? I’m guessing that he is just about ready to collect Social Security. How time flies.
