A mid-century classic by Jean Kerr

Jean Kerr and Family – Vogue July 1954

Jean Kerr was a popular mid-century writer who wrote the 1957 best seller, “Please Don’t Eat the Daises”. The book was the inspiration for the 1960 Doris Day film and the 1965 TV series with the same name.

Kerr was a mother of 4 boys when she wrote this 2 page article for the July 1954 edition of Vogue magazine. The title? Please Don’t Eat the Daisies.

Please Don’t Eat The Daisies article by Jean Kerr – Vogue July 1954

I’m guessing that this article was the beginning of the “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” Book/Film/TV series franchise by this talented writer. The comedic talents of Jean Kerr were obvious in this short piece where she wrote about each of her 4 children. The article is available for download below.
