1952 I Dreamed I Won the Election

1952 Maidenform Bra election day ad.

I stay away from the subject of politics as much a possible, but I couldn’t resist posting this Maidenform ad from Today’s Woman magazine – November 1952.  The bra company ran a series of “I dreamed” ads in mid-century magazines where a topless model showed off her Maidenform bra while doing an assortment of extraordinary things. Here, the caption is, “I dreamed I won the election in my Maidenform Bra”.  64 years later, this dream may be a reality.  Perhaps she should have been wearing a pantsuit.

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
