Pream: The Vintage Cream Substitute for Coffee

In 1959, Pream, a non-refrigerated cream substitute, gained popularity for its convenience and cost-effectiveness alongside its use in recipes.

It’s morning in 1959. Time for some hot coffee. No need for cream. She has Pream.

Pream is the one you don’t have to keep in the refrigerator.

Pream is the one that costs about 1/3 less. Get the Economy Site–it “creams” up to 70 cups of coffee.

This cream substitute was introduced in 1952. It is similar to Coffee Mate from Carnation which was introduced in 1961.

It was also promoted as a substitute for cream in recipes. Here’s a recipe for whipped cream, but is seems like a lot of work. The ad was published in the September 1958 edition of Better Homes and Gardens.
