2022 – 28 Days of Love

Each day in February, a different mid-century "couple in love" will be featured.

Let’s celebrate February with 28 images of mid-century love.

Mid-century editors, advertisers and illustrators seemed to have one thing in common. They were all obsessed with attractive couples. Of course they were. Couples represented love and love sold magazines.

The look of love was everywhere. Some might think it kitschy, but I think it delightful. For each of the 28 days of February, I’ll be showing off a mid-century love-themed image. Each day there will be a different image and a different insight into the American world of the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Mid-Century Love Guessing Game

To get us started, here is a guessing game. Each of the images you see above was used in a mid-century ad. Can you match the image to the product?
