True story. This is the exact same sewing machine that I used when I was a young girl and teenager. I learned to sew at a very young age and made most of my wardrobe. Sewing made me happy when my confidence was low. It helped me get through the difficult high school years and gave me an identity. I can still hear the hum of this wonderful little machine.
I was thrilled when I saw this ad in the June 1961 edition of Women’s Day magazine. I know of others women who also learned to sew on this popular machine. And I have to say that we are all still in love with sewing (and sewing machines).
