1956 Secretary Beauty Tips

Looking good and professional in the office.

Mid-century guide to looking your best at the office from Today’s Secretary 1956

I was able to acquire a few editions of a magazine created specifically for mid-century office workers titled Today’s Secretary. Although it is not as interesting as a fashion or homemaker magazine, it does give us a peek into life as a secretary. Here is an excerpt from the Good Looks section of the October 1956 edition. It gives tips on how to apply makeup. Other information included in this section includes fashion advice.

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
