I hope you will love this DuBarry Cosmetics ad as much as I do. It was published in the May 1956 edition of Charm magazine. The ad is for DuBarry’s lipstick branded with the name Pink Fire.
Pink FIRE. Pinker than red. . .redder than pink!

The lipstick sold for less than $1.25 in 1956.
The pretty retro model is wearing long pink gloves and turquoise jewelry. The ad notes that the necklace and earrings are from Victoria Stone. A quick internet search reveals that Victoria Stone is a synthetic stone made with vibrant colors. The bright stones next to soft pink is lovely.
I don’t have a lot of DuBarry cosmetics ads in my collection of mid-century women’s magazines. However, I managed to find a few from their line of hair color products. Both of the ads shown below were for hair color that was temporary. This was a way to change hair color between shampoos.

DuBarry brand information found on the Internet
I don’t have a lot of DuBarry brand information in my collection of 1950s and 1960s women’s magazines. So, I checked the internet to learn more. I found this great post from a site named Vintage Makeup Museum.
Here’s the link.
