1963 – Full Hands, Full Fridge

Four kids , a fridge, and a mom.

Here’s a cute mid-century ad showing a full household, a full refrigerator, and a mom in demand. The tagline compares the home’s popular ice box with the challenging role of a mom and reads,

What else do they turn to so often . . . except Mother?

Frigidaire Refrigerator ad – Good Housekeeping May 1963

By this time in the early sixties, it was common for appliances to come in colors. A gold one is shown in this Frigidaire ad that was published in the May 1963 edition of Good Housekeeping magazine.

The family theme is continued for this ad with the 6 member family posed in front of the family refrigerator. If offers a folksy photo for our 21st century eyes to enjoy.

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
