1959 – Cake and Confetti

Blow out the candles and enjoy some cake.

Boy in suit and pointy brthday hat enjoys cake – McCalls March 1959

Today is April 30–a good day indeed. To celebrate, here’s a cute red-headed boy eating cake. Confetti on his shoulder and a crumbs on his plate. May he have a day as great as he is.

I wonder if his mother will make him get a clean cut haircut before his senior picture. Perhaps she will, but at least she never made him wear a suit and tie on his birthday.

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
