1963 Weird and Confident

What would you tell your teenage self?

As part of the WordPress Bloganuary January challenge, day 1 asks, “What advice would I give my teenage self?” My answer contains a few short words. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Have fun. Stay weird.

The image you see from a 1963 Good Housekeeping ad for Pandora sweaters shows a teenager wearing a comfortable sweater set and wool plaid skirt. She is not the typical young model. Her messy hair, thick glasses, and worn cardigan tell a different story. But there is no denying. She’s confident, she’s weird, she’s herself!

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
