1964 Beauty Trends

Dramatic Changes for Eyes, Lips, and Face.

Each month Vogue magazine provides its readers with the latest beauty trends. Here in the May 1964 issue we are told to go with kangaroo eyes.

If you’re still drawing outward wings in eye-liner, you’re not with the current. Eye-lining is level eye or round. The newest eye is kangaroo eye, round, melting with lashes curled down instead of up.”

As for the lips . . .

Choose a multi-toned lipstick like the colors marbleized on a stick by DuBarry.

And for the face . . .

Choose brush-on makeup. Within its framework, you can now brush on everything except lipstick.

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
