1950 – Ford Crestliner

Ad for the short-lived Crestliner Ford

1950 Ford Crestliner

This ad for the New Ford Crestliner appeared next to an ad for the Country Squire station wagon in the August 1950 edition of Flair magazine. Both of these post-war high-end cars from Ford represented a change from the past and began to take on the classic 1950’s look that we think of today.

The fine fashion car of its field . . . with choice of smart new color combinations

The Crestliner model was discontinued by Ford within 5 years due to low car sales, but the two-tone style of course continued and began to represent the classic mid-century Ford.

About Janet

I'm an American baby boomer with a strange hobby. I collect mid-century women's magazines. My blog, MidCenturyPage.com is a result of a 20 year passion to scan the pages of these magazines and share them with anyone who wants to understand what mid-century women thought about, cared about, and worried about while living in the 1950's and 1960's
