1961 Illustration by Al Parker

Beautiful illustration by Al Parker from 1961.

This illustration by Al Parker of a women wearing a red sleeveless dress was published in the September 1961 edition of McCalls magazine. It accompanied a short story by Adela Rogers St Johns titled “Make Way”.  As was typical of magazine short stories, the full color illustration took up at least a page. Al Parker did not disappoint in this stunning illustration that included text in the negative space.
